Do you ever notice how hard it is to practice self-control during the holidays? It’s easy to eat too many sweets or watch too many Christmas movies. But our lack of self-control goes much deeper than that. Every single person knows what it feels like to struggle against sin and lose the battle. In the third week of our Covenants series, we will look at the covenant God makes with Moses and the Israelites. We will see that because they couldn't overcome sin, they failed to keep the covenant they made with God. We will see how all of this points to the need for a Savior, not just for the Israelites, but for every single one of us.
From the dawn of creation to the coming of Christ, God’s story is marked by unbreakable promises – covenants – that reveal His love, faithfulness, and desire for a relationship with us. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, we will journey through the Bible’s five major covenants, starting with Noah and ending with the New Covenant in Christ. Each week, we’ll uncover how God’s promises have shaped history and our own individual faith as well. Across centuries and with different people, each of these covenants points to Jesus and continues to give us hope today.
Join us as we explore:
- The faithfulness of God through every season
- The incredible story of His grace, love, and redemption
- How we are invited to live under God’s unchanging promises.
