Jesus’ challenge in His Sermon on the Mount stands in stark contrast to the culture of their day and the world we live in today. This week, as we continue in our study of the Beatitudes, we will look at what it means to be pure in heart and how that enable us to see God. It is one thing to say we are Christ followers but God discerns the lies that cross our lips because he sees what is on our hearts. We will also explore what it means to be a peacemaker in a world filled with conflict--race, class, sex, nationality.
In this series, we explore the eight blessings (or Beatitudes) recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. Each is a proverb-like proclamation, without narrative.
