Community Shepherds Are God Working through Someone
I was thrilled the other day when my Community Shepherd, Michelle, took the time to give me a call. It was truly unexpected.
Do you know how you feel when you don't really want to burden somebody? Even though Michelle would tell me she was there for me, I didn't really want to call her or burden her with what may be going on in my life.
It meant the world to me when she caught me off guard the other day and called me and said, "Shelly, I just want to let you know, as your Community Shepherd, Dan and I are here for you guys. We love you and we're praying for you, and I'm going to check in with you if it's ok on occasion."
You have no idea what that means to me, because I so often do not want to be that person who steps out and calls somebody.
And I just said, "Michelle, you have no idea what that means to me, because I so often do not want to be that person who steps out and calls somebody. I just feel like everybody has their own stuff."
There are some really neat things that God has been doing in the lives of my family, specifically in my marriage and with my children. We met with Dan and Michelle a while back and I was able to share those thing with Dan and Michelle and they were genuinely happy for us, and that felt so good.
Through this program, what I see is God working through someone to love and bless us.
